Carol Groom is a local Bourton on the Water resident and mother to Dan.
Five years ago Carol lost her son Dan to suicide and has since campaigned to raise awareness and funds for Sunflowers Suicide Support to help other families who may find themselves on the same journey as hers.
She discovered that there were very little resources for this kind of support and counselling in our area and so she turned to this wonderful charity. Since then, they have not only been a part of her support network but have also become a part of her family.
This year Carol turns 60! It is also the five year anniversary of Dan’s loss. Such significant milestones require recognition and so Carol has decided that she will do a wing walk on the 19th of September. As a community, we want to support Carol’s “bravery” and help her to raise as much money for this wonderful organisation as possible which will go towards counselling for those bereaved and other programs set up by Sunflower Suicide Support.
